Pre-installed Spotify refuses to store music on SD card

My Question or Issue

Despite selecting SD card as storage from the settings, Spotify stubbornly insists on downloading music straight to the device. The sheer number of songs on the device is preventing other apps from running.

Because Spotify is pre-installed, it cannot be deleted from the phone, and reinstalled.

This is infuriating as there is plenty of space on the SD card. The card is fine because other apps store data to it.
