Progress bar on notifications is not showing since I upgraded to Android 12

Progress bar on notifications is not showing since I upgraded to Android 12

This issue has been plaguing me for like half a year now. I use a vivo S1 Pro and when I got the android 12 update some time ago, the progress bar that you usually get on the notification was missing. I checked the notification settings to see if anything is turned off but nothing was off. Reinstalling the app also doesn't work after I tried numerous times. If anyone has a solution it would be much appreciated.

Hey there,

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.

You mentioned that you've already reinstalled the app, but would you mind going through the steps of a clean reinstall, as it's more thorough than a normal one?

It's also a good idea to exclude the app from any Battery optimization software that might be active on your smartphone.

If this doesn't do the trick, could you send us a screenshot of what you're seeing on your end? You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert image option in the post editor. Make sure not to send any private info.

We'll be on the lookout.

Hi there,

Sorry for the late feedback.

Like you've said I did a clean reinstall following all the correct steps. But it still won't show up even after numerous clean reinstalls.

Also I've noticed that this also isn't tied to Spotify. Other music streaming apps also doesn't show a progress bar like they used too.

Oh and here's a screenshot of my problem.

Hope this give

My suspicions is because of the android 12 update that broke it.

Hey @NotLindemann,

Thanks for getting back to us.

If this behavior started after an update to your Android device, then this is most probably outside of Spotify's control to patch.

It is best to inform your phone manufacturer that the latest update that was pushed to your device has introduced a certain incompatibility with the streaming apps.

We will keep updating the app on our end with general fixes and stability improvements, but can't promise that this specific issue will be addressed, since, as we mentioned, it sounds dependent on the recently pushed updates, which we have no control over.

We're always working on improving the user's experience and we advise that you keep your Spotify up to date with the latest version.

Hope this helps. If you need anything else, the Community is here for you.
