Qualcomm Allplay device not showing up in Spotify Connect

I recently bought the following Wifi connected speaker device by Medion using Qualcomm's Allplay technology see: http://aldi.medion.com/md83867/be_nl/?refPage=aldi

What I understood is this Allplay technology has been Spotify Connect certified see: https://www.qualcomm.com/news/releases/2014/09/04/qualcomm-expands-allplay-smart-media-platform-reac...

However when using the Spotify android App the speaker devices does not show up in the Connect screen. The speaker is connected to the same wifi network. Internetradio via the Qualcomm Allplay App is working and it uses the latest firmware available. What am I missing?

Hi there; whilst the chip manufacturer has enabled connect to work woth their technology the hardware manufacturer must build this into their firmware. I see this device does not show as Spotify Connect compatible and therefore must assume they have not built it in. I would recommend you contact the manufacturer and ask if they intend to build Spotify Connect into the devices firmware.
