Hello everyone, I`m new to spotify and I got some question. I recently synced my desktop Spotify client with Android. It synced playlists and local files. But I can`t find those local files inside Android app. Where can I find them? BTW I didn`t added them as playlist when I was syncing, I just synced it as Collection. Also how can I delete those songs now if they don`t appear in Spotify app? I know I can clear cache but it will delete everything I synced besides my local files.
I haven't tried this but I'm pretty sure you can only synch playlists. If you select the mobile device in the desktop client it shows playlists including one called "Local files" which is a playlist containing all your local files. If you synched that, it would appear under the playlists tab in "Your Music".
How did you try to do this?
That`s the thing - inside the desktop app it`s showen that I synced it and if I open some apps like musiXmatch on my Android I can see albums from local folders. But I can`t find playlist with local files on Android Spotify.
Try creating a playlist in the desktop client, drag some local files into it then synch to see if that shows in your playlists.
There are two problems with this thing. First, it`s just a workaroud. OK, that`s fine. But second problem is - how I delete local files synced with Android device if I synced them without playlist solution?
It is a work-round but maybe it will be fixed before Collection comes out of Beta testing. If you think files actually got synched but don't appear (from the size of the spotify cache) then reinstalling spotify will clear the cache completely. It's worth double-checking that these files don't show as downloaded in the songs tab first.
I don`t have separate tab for songs - only for playlists.
Select Artists at the top then "View all albums" followed by "View all songs".
The bad news is that Collection doesn't show downloaded tracks seperately. If you're at the top of the songs screen, dragging down will reveal the sort options and a search box which might help but you'll probably want to use the work-around of playlists to preserve your sanity for now.
