Recently played / favorites behavior

I'm using the Mac OSX desktop app on the free plan.

Until recently, when I clicked "play" on an album in my recently played list, it only played the songs I had favorited on that album.  

Recently, though, when I click "play," it plays all songs on the album, not just my favorites.

Why did this change?  Is there any way to switching back to just playing my favorites?
