Recently switched from iOS to Android - need to understand the differences

Recently switched from iOS to Android - need to understand the differences

I recently switched from an iPhone to Android device there are some differences.

With iOS once a playlist had completely synched there would be a solid green circle with a black down pointing arrow. On the Android version I'm never seeing that no matter how long the device has been left to synch. On my device the only thing that will appear beside a playlist is either a circle with black background & white down pointing arrow....or a sort of squared off circle with its side missing & the down pointing arrow.

I have lots of storage available & fast connection. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Hello,

Thanks for the response.

I tried offline and yes all of my library seems to be there.  I've connected to a few different wifi & 4g networks and there's no difference.  My girlfriend is connecting connecting to the same wifi network and has no issues.

So I guess its resolved, just going to aggravate my OCD 🙂

Thank you again for your assistance.

Here's a screenshot of what I'm referring to

Hey there @yycken

Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community.

We checked the screenshot you sent and it looks like the download of the playlists is in progress. When it's done, you should be able to see this icon next to your downloaded content.

If you've already waited some minutes but your content hasn't been downloaded successfully, it's well worth running a clean reinstall to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble.

If the issue persists afterwards, would you mind giving a different internet connection a go to see if that makes the difference?

Lastly and just to confirm, are you trying to download your content to an SD card or the internal storage?

Keep us posted on how it goes.

Hello there,

Thanks for the reply, its appreciated.

I wiped the Spotify content/cache and tried the clean install but still seem to be having issues.

When I download a playlist this is what I get, the green circle but not for individual songs:

And when looking at the library page (I've only attempted to download those two playlists):

If its helpful I've attached a link for a pdf that shows the setup configuration as installed on the Android device:

The device is a Pixel 6a running Android 13 with all the latest patches/upgrades installed.  There's currently >60gb free storage.

Any thoughts?

Thanks again for the assistance!!

Hey there @yycken

Thanks for all the info you've sent so far.

Just to confirm, if you switch to Offline mode, are you able to listen to your downloaded content? If you aren't, could you download it again while connected to a different network?

If the issue persists, could you ask a friend or a relative to log in to their account on your phone to see if the same happens with a different account?

Lastly, we edited your post as we don't recommend sharing private info in the Community.

We'll be waiting for your reply.
