Removing offline files

Removing offline files

Spotify is using over a Gb over space on my phone even though I have no tracks listed as "available offline". How do I find out which tracks it's saved and delete them or can I just delete them with a File Manager app?

If you go to spotify settings, at the bottom is the option to clear cache and data which will do what you want. You will need to log in again but that space will be freed up.

Thanks, I did that but still had 1.73Gb of data after that. I've gone into App storage in the Android settings and deleted data from there, that worked ok.

Does this mean that if you mark an album as "available offline" then remove this at a later date, the storage space is not freed up?

Basically, yes and the reason given is that it avoids redownloading music if you toggled the offline button accidentally. Android's storage management should free up "dead" space eventually but it doesn't always seem to work unfortunately.

There's a long-running thread on this here.
