Samsung galaxy tab spotify music control widget

I recently purchased a samsung galaxy tab 4 and found out that the music control widget was not showing up on my lock screen I tried re-installing spotify and reset my tablet to default settings to make sure nothing was interfering. How do I make this available is tnerea tip or trick I can report or is thisa bug for spotify to fix in an update as soon as they can?

Hi, I've seen a few Samsung users reporting this. I think it must be something Samsung add to their ROM which overrides the standard lockscreen and potentially disables the Spotify control.

You could maybe try another lockscreen replacement and see if it works on that.

I tried messaging samsung first and they sent me here saying it was spotify's problem, I believe I tried using unbuntu lock screen to fix it but besides having numerous other bugs it also didn't have a spotify widget available, I choose unbuntu to replace touch wiz, which I believe is the new lock screen you were talking about as I read on the internet about it as well but I later found the people who had this problem were also using jays headphone controls and the intefered with spotify displaying the widget I am happy to install a less buggy lock screen software if you have suggestions as I was only aware of unbuntus existence.

You don't need to replace the entire launcher (touchwiz in your case). However you can replace the lockscreen; maybe try one of the duggested lockscreens in this link: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/best-free-lockscreen-replacement-apps-android/

I tried installing those programs and none of them allowed me to see the desired lock screen widget. I still believe this is an update problem because as far as I am aware the s5 uses touchwiz ui and I am unaware of similar issues with there touchwiz ui so I guess it may be relatedto the app needing to be updated

Really, you should be able to add the Spotify widget to these lockscreens.

You are correct, Samsung use touchwiz which is their launcher/tweaks to the Android OPerating System... it's their lockscreen which has disabled the ability to pull the spotify control widget/album art. This means, nothing SPotify can do to enable this feature, it has to come from Samsung as they are the ones who have disabled it.

Ok what ever I am sick of being told by one company that the other is at fault as a point the samsung galaxy s5 uses the touchwiz ui does the galaxy s5 have reports of similar issues? I am sorry to not believe you but I already spent the first part talking to samsung customer support and spotify customer support and I have tried everything suggested so far but not one suggestion yet has gotten me closer to a spotify lock screen control widget to control my music from the lock screen...

I can guarantee the Spotify widget and Album art works fine on stock Android.... It's Samsung's replacement lock screen which is disabling the control.

I am going to admit I didnt click your link but I really dont have time for this anymore so I just disabled my lock screen completely... So these are my results: Pic 1: screenshot of a search on the spotify forums 2 results a sony experia z1 and a samsung galaxy s4 from a year ago. Pic 2: A post on thr android forums of this exact problem in a post for the s5 and the solution to the problem being a third party app interfering and then they had no issues. Pic 3: Another search of the forums.
