Samsung s6 won't display preview/arrows on lockscreen

My Samsung s6 will only let me change the song if I go through the app and this is really difficult. Sometimes I'm working out and I just need a "next" arrow button on my lockscreen. Any advice? I checked the app settings already idk what to do 😞

Expand the notification by dragging it down to reveal the next/back controls.This applies to all larger notifications in android 6 by the way.
