Shuffle and Repeat keep turning off!

Hi,

Everynight to help me sleep I listen to my playlist, I have it set to Shuffle and repeat so it plays all night!  However for the past 2 or 3 weeks the shuffle and repeat options keep turning off! For, from what I can tell, no apparent reason. I always make sure they're turned on before I put my phone down at the side of the bed, yet for some reason 10 - 20 minutes later they turn off! Is ther an easy fix to this problem.  I've tried unistalling and reinstalling the app, but that hasn't helped!

Same problem here, but I know what triggers it for me. Basically, whenever I select a track from a playlist, shuffle and repeat are switched back to default settings (off and repeat-all, specifically). So, every time I want to change playlists, i have to select the other playlist's song, then manually turn on shuffle again. This is worse than the previous functionality, where these buttons would maintain their settings until they were changed manually.

Playing a random song or queueing a random song from the same playlist does the same. And its annoying AF

I'm having the same issue.

My biggest issue is the fact I keep mine on shuffle perminantly. So when I get into my car and connect to my radio via Bluetooth, sometimes I'll select a song near the bottom of that particular playlist to listen to first. Then all of a sudden it starts playing suggested songs instead of my playlist and I can't change it because I'm driving... it's quite a pain.

The only way I've found to avoid it switching off is to keep it running in the background at all times. I have a habit of closing all apps so then it resets every time anyway :'(

I've never had an issue with Spotify bfore but this is doing my head in.

Fricking hate this! Will cancel sub if this ks not fixed/reversed back a couple of versions. I use Spotify in the car. This is dangerous to traffic...

Spotify should play music shuffle for hours on end.

I agree I hate it, they do need to revert back or fix it. I don't listen much in the car, but I hate having to them back on every time I want to listen to something. It should be on by default and stay on.

Same thing keeps happening to me. I notice it resets the shuffle and loop setting if I select a song specifically from my playlist. Started happening about a week ago. On my s8 if that matters.

I really do NOT like this new functionality. I pick songs all the time but still want my playlists to shuffle without having to hit those buttons 10 times during a single work out!

Same!!  This is so annoying.  Every time I change a playlist I have to select shuffle and repeat all.  Disappointing especially with a paid subscription!

I think it's fixed!! Running version 8.4.57.803 armV7 on June 17, 2018.

When I select a new song, shuffle & repeat setting are preserved (repeat-single turns into repeat-all, but that seems correct to me).

So glad this is solved!
