Shuffle play doesn't stay on when changing songs

Whenever I am listening to my songs in shuffle play and I select a new song, the shuffle function does not remain on and I have to reclick it everytime I change the song. I have a galaxy s9 amd I updated the app today. I don't know why this is a problem now when it wasnt before. Is there anyway to fix this or is it just a flaw in the app.

We had an issue where Shuffle would turn off after one song but this issue should be resolved. Could you try to reinstall the app using these instructions?

This did not work for me.

This is still a problem for the most recent spotify updste. A clean reinstall did not solve the issue. I would appreciate it if another solution was posed.
