My Question or Issue
Issue is simple - when I try to sign in with Facebook, it will open my browser and authenticate successfully, but then it will switch back to the app and simply show me a black screen. I've tried uninstalling, clearing cache, clearing storage, and removing Spotify as an authorized app on Facebook. Nothing works.
I cannot switch away from Facebook login to standup username/password, since Spotify is telling me my email is already in use (a whole other issue lol)
Any help would be greatly appreciated. This issue is 100% device specific as logging in with Facebook works no problem on my old phone, just not my new pixel.
Hi everyone, I had this exact issue, could not login to Spotify app through the Facebook option since I only saw a black screen after clicking the Facebook option.
To fix this I logged in to my Spotify account on the web and then reseted my password with my user ID instead of email. Then I just logged in to Spotify app with Google (using my new password) instead of Facebook and it worked instantly.

I was able to get this resolved by using email login in place of fb.
Login to your Spotify account (via fb) on a web browser go to your profile and edit your email and provide one.
Then on the app choose email login. Then choose login without a password. Spotify will send you a link to the email to login. Hope this helps

I'm using a brand new Pixel 6 on Android 13. My Premium family account is connected with my Facebook. I have no trouble logging in on PC or my other Android. When I try to login via FB on my new Pixel, it goes to a black screen.
I saw a thread saying that I need to reset the Spotify Password associated with my FB email. I did so, then tried logging in via the 'Log In' function. When I did this, it took me to a free account that had none of my saved songs.
I just tried removing Spotify from my FB shared apps. Then I tried logging in again. This still did not fix the issue.
Please advise.
I am experiencing the same issue.
This issue occurred when using Facebook via a browser. To get around the issue I installed the Facebook application, logged into FB, then logged into Spotify.
This fixed it for me, but still unfortunate that I have to do it. Definitely a bug in their code that is messing up for specifically, Google Pixel 7 (and maybe a handful of other phones). I had the Pixel 6 and never had this issue either.

For the last few days I've been unable to login with my Facebook account, it just crashes. I've deleted my storage and cache. No help there. I've deleted and reinstalled the app, again no help there. I've updated the app, still doesn't work. I've done everything twice, once before and after the update, still no luck.

I also have the same issue: logging into Spotify using the Facebook sign-in option causes a black screen.
I got around it by clicking "Sign-in Without Password", pulling up my 10-digit account ID on my desktop, typing it into my phone, and completing the email sign-in process.
EDIT: I just chatted with Spotify Support. The first solution offered in my case was to reset my account with the Facebook-related email account -which I cannot access because it is as ancient as my Facebook acount lol- . The second solution was to use my actual email account. This email account already had a Spotify profile linked to it so I just cancelled it and will have to wait 14-30 days to use it again to log in and use the first solution xD. They suggested to make a new email account or use my work or school email accounts, which I did not want to do. I cancelled my premium for this month. To my question: why did this happen? The support employee said it was because the Facebook profile had ben unlinked from my Spotify account 🤔
I am having the same issue for two days now on my Xiaomi Redmi 8. I tried editing my email adress to another one not linked to FB but that one is also registered and it won't accept it. Also not sure that would be a solution?
I uninstalled and installed the app, cleared cache and nothing works.
If I cannot use Spotify while I'm out, I am going to cancel my Premium until it gets solved🥺
The workaround of using my username (a long series of digits) and then clicking 'sign-in without password' worked for me as well!
I had this issue on my new Pixel 7 Pro and found a workaround to login with Facebook.
On the website you need to log in with Facebook (should work fine) and check what email address is registered for your account. Then on the app press "Log In" (not with Facebook) and type in that email address. After that screen look for a button that says "Log in without password" and press it, which will send you an email with a "Log in to Spotify" link. Open the email on your device and hit the button. Spotify should login and work after that, good luck!

Another thing that worked was installing the Facebook app and then logging in with Facebook. When I removed the Facebook app, I got the black screen again.
Yes you can. I didn't think I could either (I would have sworn I tried a couple of days ago), but just tried and it worked.
