Slow and unresponsive

Slow and unresponsive

Every time there's an update the app for me on a Samsung s20 using Android gets worse each time.

Since the last update it keeps asking me to go online....already online, search and adding to playlists always comes up with faults. Sometimes it doesn't even show anything on a search by for example Metallica.....just freezes.

This is getting gradually worse and now even my partner is having the same issues on iPhone 11 pro.

Hi there @dragonsour,

Sorry to hear that you're having issues with the app.

As a first step we'd always recommend you run a clean reinstall of the app, which involves deleting the app cache that sometimes causes issue when corrupted. Follow the steps in this guide to do it.

Also note that if you have a large collection of playlists/ playlists containing several hundred songs or a Liked Songs playlist with more than a thousand songs, the app might become slower on certain devices.

Let us know how it goes.

Cheers!

As an experiment: who here uses an sd-card, for instance for storing offline Spotify tracks? I just popped it out, and Spotify suddenly runs a zillion times smoother.
Everything works like it should, and blazing fast.
I haven't tested it long enough to confirm that this is *the* solution, but the difference is currently hardly imaginable.
Three days later he gave the following feedback:
Yup, solutions still works. Haven't had a problem since I removed the sd card. Such a bliss! Such a joy!

Now, I add: Yes, it did work for me, too! I turned off my Samsung S10, removed the SD card and checked that Spotify ran as fast as it should run. Turned device off again and reinserted the SR card, WITHOUT deleting the music already there. Spotify still runs fast and I have no problems so far (for 10 days already).
Thank you very, very much, "ingejanse"!!
