Some local files 'unavailable' to play on android.

Some local files 'unavailable' to play on android.

I recently bought the Pump it Up workout album from Ministry of Sound via itunes and there are 34 tracks. I went into spotify (premium) on my laptop and went into local files and transferred the album into my 'running' playlist which at the moment only has that album in it. All the 34 tracks play fine on my laptop. A lot of the tracks aren't available on spotify itself but obviously as I bought the album the tracks can still play through local files on spotify.

I moved the bar at the top to 'available offline' and went into my android phone to download the playlist and only 6 songs are even playable - all the others are greyed out and say 'The track is not available' when I click on it. It's not even like the ones that are greyed out are ones that aren't available on spotify itself, it's just an entirely random selection of 6 songs that work... not that it should make a difference if they aren't on spotify anyway because they are all local files.

I deleted the playlist and went through the process again and the same thing happened.. with the same 6 songs. If I click 'download the playlist' it will only download those 6. WHAT.

Your phone has to be connected to the same WIFI connection as your computer for local files to be downloaded.  You cannot download local files via your phone's 3g-4g.

Thanks - is that known as tethering? If so I'm not actually allowed to do that!

Nope. You need to connect your phone to your home wifi network - the same network the PC is on - and then get the files over from the pc by selecting a playlist to sync to the phone e from within the desktop app
