Songs keep stopping when I put my phone to sleep

My Question or Issue

When I am listening to a playlist and I put my phone to sleep the music keeps stopping and continuing where it stopped. It is very annoying because I can't really enjoy a song when the song keeps stopping for a second of 10/20. How do I fix this. I already tried deleting some downloads but it didn't work. I don't experience this problem when I am using the app.

I've tried listening to music directly through my phone, through my car's bluetooth, and through bluetooth headphones, and it happens in all settings. I've also tried different albums, downloaded and streaming, just to be sure it wasn't a problem with a specific upload. still happening, and it's very frustrating 😞
