Hi all,
On an HTC One X running ICS, Spotify will just randomly start playing music on occasion. There seems to be no real pattern except that music has been stopped some time previously (anything between a few minutes and an hour or so). It is usually from the last song or playlist what was playing. It is by no means every time so I am not able to reliably replicate it.
In principle, sounds similar to this
Any ideas on how to resolve this as is quite an issue because it means that things can start playing during meetings for example...!
Thanks
Solved! Go to Solution.
Same thing happening on my Razr M. Just started a few weeks ago. Pretty much exactly as you've described it.
This has been happening to me too 😠 So awkward when you're in a meeting and all of a sudden your music starts blaring

Someone else using your account and Connect possibly?
Hi, this keeps happening to me also. Although, I don't use a bluetooth device or anything like that.
Its woken me up a few times early in the morning, which isnt fun.
Is there a way around this without having to remove Spotify all together?
I'm having the exact same problem you guys are having. On three separate occasions, now, without having had Spotify running in the background (ie. nothing on the Recent apps screen), I've had Spotify just randomly open on its own and start playing something from an album I'd been listening to on my Moto G. I don't have a Connect account or anything like that - I've also done a virus scan and have come up with nothing.
On two separate occasions, it happened randomly at 6-ish in the morning (maybe 2 weeks apart) and then it just happened again last night at 1:26 in the morning. I tried reaching out to the community for Republic Wireless (my carrier) but they just said that there have been instances of this happening if you have Motorola Assist active (which I did - I stopped using it after reading that and then it happened again last night!). My wifi is password protected, though, so I doubt it's a matter of anybody piggy-backing on my connection.
Since it did the thing again last night, I've uninstalled it along with Spotify, but I'm hoping somebody can figure out what on earth is going on and figure out how to get it to knock it off, so I can reinstall Spotify on my phone. 😕
Same thing happens to me on my HTC One (M7). Done it a few times now and can be days from when I last used spotify on the phone. Completely random times but always the last track I played is the one that starts to play all on it's own.
The same thing is happening to me but I have don't spotify at all on my phone.. I have the galaxy s6 edge plus. I actually just bought it and the last couple of early mornings it just plays the song I'm using as my ringtone that I got from another phone using Bluetooth.. I think it's someone calling but there is nothing running.. Does anyone know what is causing it?? I'm glad I'm not the only one.. I thought I was going insane lol
