Spotify App not working on my Android

Spotify App not working on my Android

It's been going on for a while now. I open the app and the first thing I see is an error message saying that the app has stopped working and it gives me two options, to report or close. I have reported it many times and nothing has happened!! I have also uninstalled the app many times and installed it back just to return to the same problem. This is getting extremely annoying because I cannot listen to music I'm paying for. Any suggestions????

Thanks,

Juan

Can you try a clean install... but before installing the app remove your SD card so that Spotify Installs and creates the cache on internal memory. With the SD card still removed open the app and log in and see if the issue contnues?

If it's working OK, you may have a corrupt SD card. Try formatting it then a clean install so the cache goes back to the SD card.

Details for a clean install....

NOTE: You will lose all preferences & offline playlists in doing this!

Uninstall the app from Settings - Apps then scroll to the Spotify app and tap on it, then press 'Uninstall' (or any other way you usually uninstall apps).

Once done using a file manager (such as ES File Explorer) make sure that the below folders are deleted (the second one may be still remaining from the older version of Spotify):

/Android/data/com.spotify.music
/Android/data/com.spotify.mobile.android.ui

Note: - Make sure to check both Emulated/0/ AND the /ext_sd/ locations for these folders as they could be on Internal memory or/and external SD card.

When all folders are removed go to the play store and install the Spotify Music app again (Direct Link).

If using an external sd card to store your cache (Offline Playlists) on Android 4.4.2+ then please read instructions in the thread here: [Android 4.4.2+]Cache on external SD card is possible

The files will not delete and the app consistently says is its not working  oh andvalso it says there is not enough storage space  but there is more than enough arrrggghhhhh

Ah. Your SD card has become corrupted. Backup all data and then format it in a PC to clean it off.

Whilst the SD card is removed uninstall Spotify from your phone.

Now pop the SD card back in and re-install Spotify and it should start working again. You can then restore your pictures etc from your backup.
