My Question or Issue

I'm a fan of both Spotify Curated Playlists and "Made for" Me playlists. However, when I now open a Spotify Curated Playlist (i.e. Bangers), there is statement "Made for 'user name.'" and the spotify curated playlist mostly plays songs that I have listened to over and over on my own playlists. It feels as if Spotify is just creating another "Made for 'user name,'" and not playing (like it used to), Spotify's Banger playlist.

I chose Spotify curated playlists when I want to hear new or different songs within a Genre, not necessarily the same songs I have been already listeing to.

Of course, on occassion, there will be overlap in songs in both of these playlists, however, more so now, it feels like Spotify is altering and customizing their own curated playlists to be more geared towards the songs I have already been listening to. I think I should hear the songs that Spotify curated and believes are relevant to that playlist/genre.

Hey @Karaptian,

We appreciate you taking the time to post this thread!

Some playlists created by Spotify for users can be personalized. We focus primarily on playlists representing moods (e.g. Alone Again, Feelin' Good, Confidence Boost) and moments (e.g. Morning Motivation, Feel Good Dinner, etc.). Our playlist editors manually choose a larger number of tracks to include in a pool for each of these personalized playlists.

The final version for each user will have a selection of the best tracks from this pool, according to their taste and habits. You can check the web player as often times there you can see a non-personalized version of the playlist.

If you log out from the web player, there you'll see a non-personalized list of songs, but they are usually not that different than the ones you'd see when logged in on the app.

Thanks for sharing your feedback on these types of playlists. We really appreciate it and we're always aiming to improve.

Hope this info cleared things up. Should you have any other questions or need help with something else, the Community's here for you.

Cheers 🙂

Thank you so much for the reply.

however, I disagree with you. The manually curated playlists by Spotify, when I'm pull them up they automatically personalize them for me and my listening habits. That was the whole point of this post is that I want the non-personalized version of the Spotify curated playlist. But, it automatically personalizes it for me and thus I cannot listen to all of the songs that are manually inputted into each one of those playlists.
