Spotify Free For Mobile Has Stopped Working On My Kindle HD

I have been using Spotify on my kindle HD for a while but picked it up again with the announcement that it wa  now free for mobile devices. However it has stopped working as I don't have a premium account. My understanding was that spotify free was being rolled out to mobile devices with adverts like online and that there would no longer be a 10 hour limit. But it gave me the 24 hour free trial and has stopped working again. Have I completely missed the point or is it an error?

It appears the version of Spotify on the Kindle Store is too old to work with the new free mobile announcement. It is something the Spotify team are aware off (and we have escalated here on the community) but there isn't a workaround I am aware of at the minute.
