My Question or Issue

My kids like to listen to an audiobook via Spotify Kids when going to bed, which offers a nice selection of stories for them to choose from. Unfortunately, after the story ended, the whole playlist starts over and over again, all through the night if we don't manually stop it. So at this point, giving the children access to Spotify Kids is pretty much useless for us.

Is there any way of turning off this "Repeat all" mode on Spotify Kids?

Hey @Weasle

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community, and welcome! We'll do our best to help you sort this out.

At the moment, it's expected that when you choose specific content from an album or a playlist, the rest of it will start playing when it's over.

In case you want to play only one song or audiobook, we'd recommend not doing it from an album or playlist. Instead, you can search for the content and play it from the single result you'll get in the app.

Let us know how it goes. We'll be on the lookout for your reply.

Hi Novy,

thanks for the reply. I tried your suggestion and searched for one track out of an audiobook and played this single search result. But again, after the track was finished, it just started playing the same track again, like in "Repeat" mode, exactly as I described above with a complete audiobook.

So am I doing something wrong here? Is there an option or setting to disable this Repeat mode in Spotify Kids, like there is in the "grown-ups" Spotify?

Hi again @Weasle

Thanks for keeping us in the loop.

Would you mind attaching a screenshot where we can see the Now Playing view in the Kids app?

It would also be helpful to have a screenshot where we can see your Grown up settings. You can find them following the steps listed here

Keep us posted. We'll take a deeper look into this.

Hi Novi,

sure, here are the screenshots of the playlist from the search request, and the grown-ups settings (all screens in German, sorry for that).

Hey @Weasle,

Thanks for the info and the screenshots 🙂

Currently there is no option to disable the Repeat mode. We always strive to improve our app and the experience with it. We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback and will make sure to pass it on to the right team.

You can also have a look in our Idea Exchange to see if someone else has already made a similar suggestion. If there isn't one, you can give these steps a go and submit your idea. That way other users can also support it. Rest assured that the higher the number of votes an idea gets, the more likely it is for it to be implemented.

Here you can find more information about how your feedback reaches Spotify.

If you have questions, don't hesitate to reach out to us. We'll be happy to help.

Wow @spotify staff: Do you still work on the Kids App and take customer feedback seriously? This app seems to be in a stage of early mvp.
