Spotify Offline issues while Connected to LTE/4G

Spotify Offline issues while Connected to LTE/4G

To Preface this issue, I had the same problems on my Note2

Fast Foarward to now, I have a note 4, totally new hardware and still having the same issue...

So I have a Samsung Galaxy note 4 with android 5.1.1

I have the mobile spotify App, Version: 4.2.0.739

I drive transport for a brewery and so my job consists of constantly Driving around my province on a daily basis.

From a fresh start the app will be connected to the spotify servers and i can stream music no problem, until not long after (5 to ten minutes) I could be in the middle of a song and it'll will suddenly stop playing or it goes to the next song in the playlist and the song doesn't play. If I try and navigate the menues (charts, discover etc.) it just says im Offline. Full LTE/4G connection on my phone (tested internet connection with speedof.me to check download speeds and it works with no issues) anything requiring data via mobile network connection works without issue, except for spotify. I've cleard the cache and deleted the data multiple times and reinstalled the app cleanly. I've literally switched phones and the problem persists. Other info to help you guys out, yes my phone is running on IPV4, i've checked that setting and read that IPV6 was not supported at the time I read one particular help thread... Seems like while driving and jumping from one service tower to another might be an issue for the app.. just a theory.. I think this goes beyond clearing cache and clean installs, any different insight to this would be awesome

Thanks

Matt

I have been having the same issue ever since I upgraded my Spotify app on Nov. 23rd. I'm running a Nexus 5 with Android 6.0

I cannot go online AT ALL. The other day I streamed two songs and just like you said, the next one played for ten seconds. Then after that, it was asking me to "GO ONLINE" which of course, did not work.

I will be looking to cancel my premium membership next week if this continues without a fix. I use it to plan worship services at my church, and use it for practice. It is a very useful tool--when it works. Right now it's useless.

Let's try to get attention for this post, as mine has gone ignored.

So I found a solution.

I downloaded (on my PC) an old version of Spotify 4.0 and uninstalled the current version on my phone. After saving the file to my download folder, I accessed it using es file explorer and installed it. It is now working.

I am not happy with this workaround. However, I can now listen to songs on mobile again

Okay well at least the good news is there is a workaround, this needs some attention though, I'm not paying for premium if i can't stream music wherever I am. it would be awesome to find something that helps fix the problem. Thanks for posting the workaround, i'll look into getting done on my phone.

Unfortunately, this workaround is no longer working for me after one day. I don't really want to go back that far all the way to 3.x. No solution yet

I am having the same problem! I have tried all the suggested fixes like doing a clean reinstall and changing the APN for T-Mobile but whenever I try to use Spotify using Mobile Data, I always get the message "No Internet Connection".

It's really irritating because I used to always listen to suggested playlists everyday, but I cannot do that anymore.

If it helps at all, I have an Xperia Z1S with T-Mobile as my carrier (and yes, I tried the APN thing already and it did not work). Running Android 5.0.2. I am also paying for Spotify Premium, and the version of Spotify on my phone is 4.2.0.739

Hopefully this could get fixed soon. If I get charged for my next month with Premium and this is still a problem for me, I might switch to an alternative. I really hope that that would not be the case because I was very happy with Spotify before this happened.

Thanks

Im trying apple music out right now. No streaming issues while driving. Its probably going to be switched to my player of choice and ill just cancel Spotify.
