Hi
I have a Samsung SIII (I9000) on Android 4.1.2 running Spoitfy with premium account.
For the last few weeks I have noticed it now stops playing a song between 2:30 and 3:10 at random.
I have
- removed the app
- cleared the cache
- redownloaded for off line a play list
No change in behavior except the duration the song plays..
I'm running Spotify 0.7.4.610.gd7332b3 (just redownloaded from app store)
I have no anti-virus installed (as per previous thread) and this appears to have started at random recetnly.
I was using it during training and it work without issue for 30-40 minutes in the summer, so at a loss as to why it now fails.
Any ideas ?

Hi Peter
Wifi/Bluetooth are normally disabled.
What I did find (in searching if Samsung SIII's had an issue) was folks complained about Google Play services.
- So went to running services, any I stopped all player type services - native, Pandora, Spotify - it looked like there was 4 of them in total.
Now I have run through nearly 35 minutes of music un-interrupted. It's like a whole new world has opened up.
So my solution to the problem is see how many music services are running
- as of year I had not deleted google play services, as I assume I have self inflicted this problem......(for now).

Same song every time? Are you using the Spotify home screen widget?
I am using the spotify App every time
All songs appear affected - whether I try off line (downloaded) or on line mode (streaming)
Currently I have downloaded the Imagine Dragons - Night Visions album as a playlist
- all songs present
- select playlist
- Radioactive - 2:30
- Tiptoe - 2:40
- It's Time - 3:10
- Demons - 2:35
When each of the above songs paused, I pressed next track to get an accurate timing.
If I press play the song resumes, but then stops in the next song at some random period.
Earlier I was playing the HIIT playlist streaming - same issue. Each song would pause and I could skip or continue only for the next song to do the same thing.
Saw this in a post on a similiar issue - nice Question list so including here
What are the steps you took to get to the error/issue?
1. I open Spotify on Android
2. I select a downloaded playlist
3. I click "Shuffle & Play" or "Play"
4. A song plays - then stops at randome period between 2:40 and 3:30min
What I expected to happen
The playlist plays through

No issue there, works fine. So it's only happening on my Android mobile device for some reason.,
Have you tried a different music player to see it you get the same thing happening?
Good call.
I was so used to spotify as my favourite player I don't use anything else.
So can confirm that Spotify & Poweramp and native music player all suffer the same problem - stopping at random.
I guess I mark this one as closed as its not a spotify only issue, however if anyone has any ideas I more than welcome them.
So either something in your power settings or another app is causing this to happen. Should be pretty easy to track down now and I'd start with any battery save, task management or battery apps 🙂
