Spotify and buds pro 2 (24 bit audio)

Spotify and buds pro 2 (24 bit audio)

My Question or Issue

Probabaly a stupid question but the galaxy buds pro 2 make a big deal out of providing 24 bit audio quality at 48khz

Would this make any difference at all when listening to Spotify, as the native sound quality is lower than that?

Hey @plan10fromspace,

Thanks for posting in the Community!
Your music output is determined by your sound card, your sound settings and the actual output device.
With your earbuds supporting 24bit 48kHz audio, listening to Spotify in 16bit will only have a small audible difference to 24bit, if any at all.
Tip: Audio Output Settings can also be tweaked (for example: in the Sound settings -> Playback device properties in Windows or in the Developer Options -> Bluetooth Audio on Android)

If any troubles arise of course, do let us know and we'll have a look!
Cheers!

So the answer is no. Spotify does not support 24-bit, right?

Hi there @Thundey,

Thanks for the question.

That's right - Spotify doesn't support 24-bit Bit Depth currently. The native output of Spotify music is 16-bit. With bit rates going up to approximately 320kbit/s.

You can read more about the music quality on Spotify - here

Note that some tracks on Spotify might sound better than others, depending on the quality they were uploaded to the platform.

Hope this info helps.
