Hi everyone,

I have a very strange issue with the Spotify app on my device. In a way that seems to be completely random, the app stops loading everything: I can't pause the song, open the settings, go to playlists / albums. It's extremely annoying; there have been some cases in which this issue influenced the work of the whole device, to the point that I had to reboot it. This happens regardless of the Internet connection (WiFi / mobile).

What'smore, I've asked some friends of mine, and they have never experienced this problem (one of them has my same device).

 

I would be very grateful if someone could help me with this; I've tried with the basic troubleshooting I've found in the Community, but it didn't solve the problem.

Hey, thanks for reaching out.

I know it sounds simple, but it's often overlooked. Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, try a quick clean reinstallation of the app. Just follow the steps here.

If you're still having trouble, could you let me know the exact version of Spotify and the exact version of the operating system you're running?

Thank you for the reply. The problem has been on my app for a long time, so that it remained even after several shutdowns and reboots. I have also tried with a clean install: at first it worked, but then the problem reappeared.

The version of my Android Spotify app is 8.4.62.490, and the version of my operating system is Android 6.0.1.

Hey @ferrarif1w,

 

Try to sign in with another account to see if that helps. If possible sign in with your account on another device to see if the issue persits there as well.

 

What do you mean by random, does it happen just by using the app or playing a specific song/album/playlist or searching?

Using Spotify on my laptop with my account doesn't give any problems, if that counts as "another device".

Regarding the randomness, it actually can happen anytime. However, it is more likely to occur opening the "My Library" or the "Search" section.
