Spotify closes after 10 minutes in the background

My Question or Issue
Ever since I have updated to One UI 6 on my s23+, the playback notification from Spotify disappears after pausing music for exactly 10 minutes in the background, and it's the only app that does this. If I want the controls back, I have to openthe app and start the music again.

I tried locking it in the recent apps, disabling auto sleeping apps, disabling adaptive battery, and giving it unrestricted battery, but nothing worked. I tried restarting my phone and reinstalling Spotify, but I have yet to try factory resetting my phone as it's not worth it.

Spotify Lite used to work perfectly...

Hey there @jfmayer84,

Thanks for posting here and welcome.

We could not replicate this behavior on our side. In that sense, we'd suggest you check that:

  • The power saving mode is off.
  • Spotify is not listed on the Background usage limits battery option. To check this, go to the phone settings> Battery> Background usage limits. We suggest you list Spotify on the Never auto sleeping apps to see how it goes.

If the above doesn't do the trick, we'd like to gather additional info so we can continue investigating. Please send us:

  • The exact Spotify version you're running on your device.
  • Send us a video recording of what's happening on your side. You can attach the video in your next reply in mp4 format, or you can also upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and make it public, so we can visualize it.

@Goodend4, have you noticed if this behavior persisted for you? We'll be here to help.

Keep us in the loop!
