I have Spotify on a Moto G running Android 4.4.4.
If I leave it playing on the background, it will suddenly quit. There isn't error message, it simply vanishes and has to be restarted.
This usually happens when I'm using another app in foreground, it can be easily reproduced by leaving Spotify playing in the background and then opening a heavier web page in Chrome. So it looks like I'm running out of memory.
What can be wrong?
Hi there! The best course of action here would be to try a clean reinstallation of the application.
Give this a shot and let us know if it works. Cheers!

What's a Spotify Rock Star, and how do I become one?
I tried this and did not help: Spotify still closes randomly.
I am using the stock ROM and have no memory analyzers/managers installed..
Please read the guide linked below for details on the most common issues and how to fix them. Usually a clean install is the first step to take and resolves most of the usual issues; the guide details the steps to take to ensure a full 'clean installation' is achieved - This includes checking redundant folders and a REBOOT!

[COMPLETE GUIDE] How to fix most Android issues
Same issue, I have on new phone 1 GB RAM of memory.
And randomly Spotify closes. Without reason. No help with reinstall. It still closes randomly. Even if I do nothing on my phone, only music.
Android 5
LG Spirit 4G
On my previous phone, which was Trend 2 with a bit less than 0.5 GB of ram, Spotify was CONSTANTLY crashing. The phone was 85 €. And every time I opened Maps or Browser. On new phone it works a way better, crashing only randomly 1-3 times in week. It's a way better. But since everytime I look after crash, there's at least 300-400 MB of free RAM - so why to crash?

Hi mate, aren't you on the beta release? You should post in the Android Beta Band rather than in this board wich is for the official release.
But before you do try a) disabling nuplayer in Android Developer Settings and b) try without the SD card in your device... it may be a correupt SD and needs re-formatting
I don't know how the card could be corrupted, as I purchased it just about like month ago... 8GB class 10.

Can you still try? If still an issue post in the beta band as that's where feedback for the beta should go so that the right people see it.
