Hi guys,
My spotifu keeps crashing whenever I open it. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling it but it works only for a couple of hours, then it goes back to continuous crashing. My device is a Google Pixel 2. Please help me out on this, i need my music. Thank you
Solved! Go to Solution.
Last night, my device downloaded the beta version of 8.4.57.803 I think it was, have had zero issues woth local playback and app availability since then.
I'm having the same issue i tried the basic debug:
But essentially there is no support from Spotify, if you dig back you see that this issue is persistently there since Spotify started.
I hope you have more luck!
Same problem here.
Did every step you suggested, and app still started crashing this morning..
Same problem here and none of the above solutions work. Using a Samsung Galaxy S8+.
Can someone direct me to the location of any crash logs?
Samsung note 8, same problem
The app works fine if i didn't download my main playlist (i have my own music from local storage), this is the only playlist that i downloaded, there around 750 songs in it
After i download the playlist (saved to SD card), it will crash when i closed the app and restart it
After i clear data, the app is working again, but need to re-login and all the downloaded music is gone
I've tried to download the playlist again (this time i saved it to my internal storage), same issue happened, i'm guessing it's related to downloading the playlist/songs
This issue happended since 8 june 2018, i noticed there's an update to the spotify app a day before
It seems like this issue is prevalent in Samsung phone?
p.s. i have tried deleting the app, restart phone and reinstall the app, but still came across same issue
@kaiserlv OP has a Google Pixel phone though, so maybe not necessarily prevalent in Samsung phones specifically.
And I experience the same thing, that it works fine if I don't download offline playlists (which also contain local mp3 files from storage).
I have tried syncing a playlist to offline that contains solely stuff from Spotify, have yet to see any issues.
I will see if I can find any crash logs and get a better understanding of the issue.
@Chokehold I created a playlist (Playlist X) with only 1 song, which is a song from local storage. Spotify work well if i didn't download the playlist.
Once i downloaded Playlist X, after opening and closing the app a few times, Spotify would crash when i open it.
Then i cleared storage data, Spotify works again. Created a playlist of 10 songs from Spotify and downloaded it. After opening and closing the app more than 10 times in the span of an hour, Spotify still works.
Then i downloaded Playlist X, after opening and closing the app a few times, Spotify crashed.
Looks like downloading songs from local storage (eventhough it's just 1 song) is the culprit.
Mine don't work To
When i put my own songs
Agreed. I have not had any troubles since keeping my lists non-downloaded and strictly no local storage mp3 files synced to device.
Local files from storage is definitely the culprit.
