My Question or Issue
Hi everyone. Would really be grateful for some help.
Over the last few months my Spotify app has been getting progressively slower to the point where it can take up to a minute to show me a playlist.
Now it seems like since the last 2 updates in the past week, the app just crashes whenever I am playing music and lock the screen, or go on another app. Sometimes it even force closes when I try to like a song or add a track to a playlist.
I've tried clearing cache and data, restarting phone, uninstalling and reinstalling, even rolling back the update to a version from a year ago. App is also excluded from power saving. Nothing makes a difference and it seems to be getting worse.
It's totally unbearable now and don't know how to solve this!
Hey, @markt5
Welcome to Spotify Community and thanks for reaching out here!
Just for information, are you currently using an Alpha or Beta version of the Spotify app?
Best Regards,
hezorg
Hi @hezorg thanks for your reply.
I'm using neither, just the release version.
Hope that helps,
Mark
Update:
I've tried using another account and the problem seems to go away.
Is there something wrong with my account?
Thanks
Alright, these piece of information is too useful... Also, could you confirm the app version before the downgrade and your device OS version?
Hi thanks for your reply.
8.5.29.828 from the play store - think that's the most recent isn't it?
My device OS version is 52.0.A.11.3
Strange another account works on my device but mine doesn't?!
Thanks,
Mark
Hey again, @markt5
Is there the possibility that you try to log in your Spotify account in another device? Just to confirm if the issue affects your account or the device...
Keep me posted!
So, maybe that is occurring because of any issue on your mobile device. If this proceed, I cannot help you to solve it, unfortunately. If you want, you can try to open your account on another mobile device, to check how it works. And are willing to create a new account? You can do it without miss any playlist. Take a look at this article.
If you have any other further questions or need more help, let me know! I'd love to help!
Best Regards,
hezorg
