Spotify deletes downloaded songs when phone loses battery while playing

Spotify deletes downloaded songs when phone loses battery while playing

This is the third time this has happened. First times I wasn't 100% sure, but now it's pretty clear what caused it. My phone was on a table playing music for a few hours, and it ran out of battery while Spotify was on. I left it there and I only plugged it in after a few hours. When I started the app back up, all my playlists and songs were unsynced.

My phone is a Oneplus One, running Android 6.0.1 and CyanogenMod 13.1.2.

To make this even more irritating, it took a while to notice, but I was on a weak wifi signal, so the signal would randomly drop and start playing through my cell phone data. I tried to prevent it from doing that, but "Offline mode" is true to its name and doesn't let you play off of wifi. So I had to go into my Android settings and ban Spotify from using cellphone data at all. I think a cool feature would be a switch to turn on/off streaming music off of cell phone data. I never stream from data because I don't have a lot, but I also can't turn on "Offline mode" because then I lose a bunch of cool features.

In all cases, I would definitely choose "Don't delete my songs when I run out of battery" as a feature if I had the choice between the two. 😉

Hey @BenSmith1. I have had a similar issue. I would download songs in one playlist, then when I switch it to offline mode or airplane mode, It would remove all the songs, and only have downloaded the first 4. I figured out that if I deleted that playlist (I know, a pain) and made a new one, that fixed it. Hope I helped
