Hi there @NoSurrender

Thanks for the post.

Can you let us know how you connect to the car - via Bluetooth or cable?

It's possible this issue is related to an issue with the phone OS or Bluetooth settings. It's a good idea to check if there are any OS updates pending. You can also check the car head unit manufacturer website for any firmware updates that have recently been released.

Something else you can check is connecting another phone to your car to see if you're experiencing the same disconnection issues. If the other phone also disconnects so often, then the issue would be related to the head unit of the car and not to the phone itself.

Keep us posted on how you get on.

Hi. The phone and spotify and the car are all up to date and it's Bluetooth that I am using. I ha e been using for a long time with no issues until recently. I have spotify on another phone and it disconnects in the same way.

No restrictions on. Battery usage or memory etc. I have switched them all to off and I don't have to do that with other programs.

Like I say, there are no issues with audio books or other Bluetooth players. Just spotify. The one I pay for 😉

How is this marked as solved?

Can you take that off as no one will look at the thread. Thanks.

Hey @NoSurrender,,

Thank you for keeping in contact.

If the issue also happens when using a different phone, it's possible that the issue could be related to the car's head unit. To make sure, would you mind connecting your phone to a different Bluetooth device like any speaker to see if it keeps disconnecting when using the Spotify app?

Also, it would be great if you could try a different type of connection between your car and your phone like an AUX cable to see if it makes any difference.

We'll be on the lookout.

Hey @NoSurrender,

Thanks for getting back to us.

Just to confirm, are you using Android auto in your car? If that's the case, it's worth mentioning that we've seen couple of reports about this and our tech folks are aware. However, we'd need the exact Spotify version you're currently running. We can then relay the information to our tech team.

Any additional details (such as device's make, model and OS) will be very helpful to our investigation as well. Sending us some screenshots (or a quick video) of how the issue looks like would come in handy.

We'll be on the lookout for your reply.

Hi

Yes its  Android in the car and Spotify is 8.8.26.408. I have seen the other posts and tried the fixes but with no luck.

The Device is a Samsung S22 running Android 13.

There is nothing to show on a screenshot or video, the music stops playing and sometimes, although not all, the device is disconnected.

I use other music players through my phone to the headunit and its fine. I used an audiobook player through my phone to my headunit and its fine.

Its for those reasons that I believe it to be spotify and its only recently too. I want to say its since the car player came back ( I do like the car player interface) but I cant say for sure.

Hey @NoSurrender,

Thanks for getting back to us and for providing the requested info.

We've reported this issue to the right folks, who'll look into it.

We'll keep you posted as soon as we have any new information to share. In the meantime, make sure to always keep the app up to date with the latest version so you don't miss out any new fixes and improvements.

Thank you for your understanding.

Intestingly I have Strava on my phone as well. They now have Spotify integration.

So Spotify on my watch will play with the head unit - no issues.

So Spotify on my Strava on the phone will play with the head unit - no issues.

So Spotify on my Phone will play with the head unit - intermittent breaks and dropouts. Thats with either downloaded data or mobile data.

Thanks anyway, keep me posted and we will see how it goes.

I am having the same issue, is there a fix please?

My phone has AVRCP to control the bluetooth that is sent to other devices. It was defaulted to 1.5. I changes  to the lowest and it was still happening.

Approximately every 5 minutes or so I could hear a blip in the music - a drop out. My guess is that sometimes the audio was able to cope with this and sometimes it l;ost its place and the connection.

I have my AVRCP version at 1.4 now and, touch wood, it has been OK. I can still hear the dropouts but it does not disconnect.

Could be updates by Spotify or updates for something else - who cares - its working 🙂
