Spotify doesn't seem to be working at the moment - Android Auto

Spotify is not working in Android Auto on Connection and also it won't work in Android Auto Mobile standalone app.

 

The Following Error message will be displayed: 
Spotify doesn't seem to be working at the moment - Android Auto

 

Device: Android Phones: OnePlus 

 

Country: India and ROW

Solution: 

Based on the device, we have the Solution.

 

Issue:

Even without connecting to the Android Auto in the Car, we can verify by opening the Android Auto app from mobile and click on music and it will through the Following error : 

 

Spotify doesn't seem to be working at the moment

 

For OnePlus: 

  1. Settings
  2. Battery
  3. Battery Optimisation
  4. Search for Spotify, 
  5. Select "Dont Optimise"
  6. Go back to Android Auto app from mobile and click on Music icon and it will show the Spotify. 

For Samsung: 

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Device Maintenance
  3. Battery
  4. Select Spotify
  5. Save Power

Based on the device, check the Battery and Sleep and Battery Optimisation, this will fix the issue.

Battery optimization for Spotify is the source of the problem.

Worked also on POCO F2 PRO THX

I pinned this down to being issues with connections.

 

My car and phone are paired on BT.

 

Android auto connects to USB, but still wants to keep BT for some reason.

 

Option 1 is to reboot car stereo and phone, then it works. Until next time/ day/drive. (nobody knows)

 

Option 2 works 100% of the time.

 

Disable BT, connect USB and hey presto!

Bt re-enables and reconnects and all is joy.
