Spotify lag issues. (17/01/18)

I had been using Spotify Premium regularly for a number of months but in recent weeks a command / response lag has developed which effects just about every aspect of using the app. Sometimes the lag can be as long as minutes before catching up with a start, pause or search. This seems to be independent of whether I am using wifi or mobile data to stream or indeed play back downloaded tracks.

This has got to the point that I am seriously thinking about cancelling my account and switching to another app. 

Is there an underlying issues which is effecting our devices.

I am using a Samsung A5, running Android Version 7.0 and Samsung Experience Version 8.1
