Spotify links won't open in app, opens in browser [android]

i'm trying to open playlist/song links sent from the instagram browser app, but the links open spotify web browser on my phone instead of opening the android app.

Could you confirm if you've allowed Spotify to open links in the app? You can do that in your phone's Settings > Apps > Spotify. It's also worth checking if clicking on a Spotify link from an app other than Instagram would open in Spotify correctly.

Thanks for getting in touch about this and welcome to the Community. 

We tried this on our end, but it worked correctly. 

In this case, would you mind sending us a screen recording of the issue happening so we can take a closer look? You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. You can also upload it to Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to see it).

Lastly, sending us the info @Yordan asked for previously would come in handy too.

I need to be able to launch the android app from a URL- I know this is possible, as an old reddit post gave an example and the link below opens the app to play

I know its only a single track, but the same behaviour occurs with
http://open.spotify.com/user/spotify/playlist/4mpekkHjRr89oTCZThGQ
(a defunct playlist, but it still tries to open with the app.
Any newer playlist I can find such as
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0K8DNHMwJaZmERK4FeaAOJ opens in the browser and I cannot for the life of me find out why. I have tried dropping the https to make it http, I have tried adding /user/spotify

The user probably needs the opposite solution. I'm having the sane problem.

I have the same problem and my settings allowed Spotify to open links in the app and my app is up-to-date. I advertise podcasts for clients and if users can't get easily to the episode or podcast page on mobile then we're kind of **bleep**!
Is there a specific deep link we need to have so it can go from the IG app to the Spotify App seamlessly?

Hello, same problem here, I use meta ads manager to promote my music on instagram with a smartlink, but every links I use has a problem with android users, when they hit the "listen now" button, they get sent to the smart link, and when they click on "spotify" they get sent to "openspotify.com" and there is only a small piece of track there, and if they click on "open app" they don't even get sent to the track itself. I tried it myself on my ads and asked many friends if they get sent to the same place and yes it always occurs. Please help me, I lost hours trying to figure it out
