Spotify logging out and wiping files when battery dies

Whenever the battery on my Moto G5 dies when I turn it back on it's logged me out and wiped everything. I try logging in but it tells me I must be connected and to go online. I try but it just keeps looping saying I need to connect. Tried it on numerous WiFi and data signals with no joy. 

Each time (5 times in 5 weeks now) I bring it up with Spotify cares they don't know what problem is, reset my cache in case it's a problem there and then it happens again a few days later. 

Having checked the forum there appear to be a number of posts from as early as 2014 stating this issue but with no definitive solution. I'm on verge of going to Deezer or Apple Music - it's very much last chance saloon. 5 reinstalls in 5 weeks is too many!

Fyi I have no task killing apps or cache clearing apps either.
