Spotify music keeps playing on android even while app is closed.

On 2019 Shield TV Pro, when Spotify app is closed music keeps playing/pausing when play/pause button played on Shield Tv remote

This type of issue is commonly related to some damaged cache stored on your device. In this case, and if you haven't tried before, we'd recommend performing a reinstall of the app on your TV.

Also, would you mind trying with a different Wi-Fi connection to see if it makes any difference? If you don't have another one available, you can use a mobile data hotspot to test it.

If the issue persists, we'd also recommend closing the app completely as it might be still open in the background. Since this process may vary between tv's, we'd recommend searching for the specific process in your browser.
