Spotify plays songs not added to the queue, Smartshuffle is turned off.

Spotify plays songs not added to the queue, Smartshuffle is turned off.

Spotify plays songs not added to the queue, Smartshuffle is turned off, And it also at random starts to play music if the app is active as background process.

It actually changes at random times to completely different albums and wipes my queue, To music not even remotely in my range.

I noticed it is however consistent with who the artist and albums are.

Artists:
- Duam.Quantum24'
- MMY.Solitude
- Metta.Adieu
- Paiintt00
- m1l1nn1a2323

The albums:
- Quantum Echoes
- Solitude
- Adieu
- Paint It
- Milinia

I notice a patern here, The artists all have only one album.
It starts playing one or more albums entirely by itself after i seem to have just paused it, Or played the same queue hours.

On top of this all the artists seem more like they are usernames,
And i suspect abuse or virus infections in my app/phone if not being hijacked in other ways.

As this is very persistent and aggressive, I tried to:
- Reinstall the app.
- Log out everywhere (Did nothing on any device for me.)
- Turn the app off when i listen on PC (Seems to stop the problem till i turn the app on.)

Side note:
I had a smart watch from a certified retailer that app is removed and the watch sent back for the suspicion,
As it was a resale from someone who returned their order as not happy with product.
(A common practice in My country.)

Hey @Mellanie1992,

Thanks for reaching out!

By the looks of what you're describing, your account may have fallen into the hands of someone else.
We can't be sure if that is the reason behind the suspicious activity as we don't have access to your accounts from the forum, but what I'm seeing surely looks like human behaviour and not automatic recommendations from our app.

To make sure your account is secured and that this behaviour ceases, follow the steps below:

1. Reset Your Password

Use this form to reset your Spotify password.

Also, change the password for any service associated with your account such as your email or Facebook.

2. Sign Out Everywhere

Go to your Account page and click on the Sign out everywhere button.

3. Remove Unwanted Apps

Go to the Apps page and remove any third-party app that you no longer use.

4. Scan Your Computer for Key-loggers and Malware

And be sure to download them from a trusted website.

5. Uninstall unwanted Browser Extensions

Check your browser for any unknown or untrusted extensions and remove them.

6. Recover Your Playlists

If any of your playlists have been deleted, you can go here and restore them.

For more info on how to secure your account, you can also take a look at this blog article over here.
Hope this helps! We're here for you should any questions come to mind 🙂
