Spotify not letting me change audio quality.

Spotify not letting me change audio quality.

Even after changing every possible setting to allow to get unrestricted access to internet and battery , still Spotify is not letting me change the audio quality.

To start getting a better understanding of the situation, we'd like to know some more details. Are the options to change the sound quality greyed out for example and you're not able to change them or are you able to click, but there's no difference with the sound quality afterwards?

 

Does the same thing happen on a different device and what's the current device you're using, as well as its OS-version?

I've been having the same issue so I'll offer my situation as example for future reference for others. I am using Spotify on an android phone. Adjusting the audio settings works for for Spotify on my computer, but on my phone the options are grayed out and do not respond when pressed.

Thanks for posting in the thread!

Just to check, do you notice any difference after clearing stored cache from the device? Make sure to log out from the app and back in again once it's done, as this will resync your account info.

It's also worth double-checking the phone's battery settings and make sure that Spotify is set as an exception, if you're using the battery optimization option. In the Spotify app, we suggest checking so that Data Saver is toggled off in the app settings, as this may also cause similar behavior. 

If that doesn't do the trick, can you let us know the make & model of your device, along with the Spotify version?

On my laptop I have set streaming quality the way in want it. On my android, the settings are different and inaccessible. I'd like the same (very high) settings when I stream via WiFi from my phone. Why is this not possible?
