My Question or Issue
Spotify plays to echo spot but has recently (last few days) stopped playing to Samsung soundbar (S61A).
I've closed and restarted the apps on both devices and also tried using voice control (Alexa built in) and restarting the soundbar.
Hi @DJGMusic,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community!
Since your sound bar runs with Alexa, there are some things we can try here.
To start, please try reinstalling both the Alexa and Spotify apps and check if you're able to play music to your sound bar.
If the issue persists, please let us know what happens when you try to play music, do you get any error messages or what's the behavior?
Also, are you able to stream using the Connect feature from the Spotify app?
Keep us posted.
The problem has fixed itself after about a week. I haven't reinstalled anything and turning off and on again didn't have an effect either. I do notice that from time to time the soundbar doesn't connect - I always connect from Spotify directly through wi-fi not Bluetooth.
I think this may be more of an Alexa and Samsung issue than Spotify but find the flaky-ness of these technologies very annoying.
And as everyone will tell you, being told to uninstall and reinstall apps, with the inevitable requirement to sign in again and re-set any settings is a real pain.
But but thanks for responding and I'll come back if it happens again 🙂
Hey @DJGMusic,
That's great news!
Remember that if you need anything else, the Community is always here for you.
Cheers 🙂
Hi @DJGMusic,
Thank you for getting back to us. Sorry to hear about this!
Can you reinstall the Alexa app and also perform a clean reinstall of the Spotify app by following the steps here? This will make sure there's no old cache files causing this.
Let us know how it goes.
Take care!
I'm having the same problem. I can't get sound from Samsung ms650 soundbar with Spotify via WIFI. This is a Spotify Connect issue. I can't connect with Spotify while I have no issues with Tidal. There was a WIFI connection between Spotify and Samsung Soundbar. While it was working fine, it stopped working lately.
Hi , I had the same issue .
I managed to solve it by removing Spotify from every device in use except my smartphone.
Problem solved.
