Spotify only plays a few songs of a playlist after reboot Win/Android app

I have a big playlist that I always add songs to and play almost everytime I use Spotify. I keep running into a strange bug for both the Windows and Android app: I play the playlist, shut down the app on either of the platforms and after I restart Spotify resumes playing the last song, but only continues for a few songs and then reverts back to the song I started playing when I reopened the app. This happens a lot. Sometimes its 3 songs, sometimes its 5, 10, 20 whatever. I have no clue what is going on. Any ideas?

Could you try to log out > restart your devices > log back in to see if that makes any difference for you?

It's also a good idea to remove any apps or services that Spotify may be connected with or affected by and make sure the OS on both your phone and computer are up-to-date.

In case the issue persists, would you mind asking a friend or a family member to log in on your devices and test this out to see if they'll experience the same?
