Spotify restarts phone on bluetooth.

Spotify restarts phone on bluetooth.

Spotify will randomly restart my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 during bluetooth playback. It normally will restart sometime during the second song, though I've had it take 4-5 before it restarts.

Once it restarts I can't finish a song before it restarts again, however hours later (like the next time I'm in the car) it WILL let me get a full song or two before restarting, even with no restarting in between.

Here's what I've tested and tried:

  • Non-bluetooth play works fine.
  • No SD card.
  • None of the options matter.
  • Tried a full reinstall 3 times.
  • Offline stored songs and streaming don't make a difference.
  • I've tested it both in my car and a bluetooth speaker, same issue.
  • It HAS worked before.

My phone is using a custom ROM running Android 5.1.1 (Tesla ROM)

Once again it HAS worked on this ROM, so please don't just blame the custom ROM unless you're sure that's the problem.

Another useful test would be to listen to another music source over BT to rule out an issue with the bluetooth radio on your Note 2.

Forgot to mention that I found the solution.

Setting the CPU governer to OnDemand solved the issue, which apperently had to do with the Pegasusq governer.

Havn't bothered finding if other CPU governers will work, because I'm replacing the phone soon-ish anyway and can deal with a bit shorter battery life from the less efficent OnDemand.
