Spotify restarts when I want to share a song?

My Question or Issue

Every time I want to share a song, the app starts each time I press the Share button from the song menu.

I have tried the method of uninstalling my Messenger app and it did work. Messenger Lite does not affect the Share button, but the full Messenger app causes the issue and I reinstalled Messenger to make sure.

I see this as an issue with both apps and I need Messenger for important contacts. I hope this can be resolved soon.

In this case, could you try some basic troubleshooting:

• Restart your device
• If that doesn't help, try a quick clean reinstall of the app. Just follow these steps.
  
  

If you're still having trouble, could you let me know the exact version of Spotify and the exact version of the operating system you're running?

There is no error message. Every time I press the Share button, it restarts the app. It does it for all content and it seems to be a software issue.

Thanks for clarification. 

Could you try this on another device to see if the issue persists? Also, try following these steps in order:

1. Uninstall the app
2. Restart the device
3. Install the app
4. Change network connection (if possible)

I have the same problem, I use a OnePlus Five vith OxygenOS 5.1.4 with Andriod 8.1.0, Spotify version 8.4.67.886

As sson I try to share to ANY other the app either goes to homepage or shuts down.
This started like some day ago !

That method did not work, either. I also tried pressing the button while on airplane mode and it still crashes and restarts on its own.

Magically barred from sharing what I'm listening to? 🤣

We’ve seen reports for this issue where the Spotify app crashes when someone attempts to share a song. First, please make sure you’ve followed these steps:

- Remove Registered Offline Devices
- Switched device off/on
- Ask if they get the same result on WiFi and mobile connection

Tried all of your suggestions. No good.  All the other apps on my Galaxy S7 8.0 have no issue with sharing. Only Spotify 8.4.67.886. Crashes on wifi and mobile data.

doesnt matter what connection i have. In mobile networkmode I can se a "yore offline"messege before it switches to homepage.

My Note 8 updated this morning and immediately my Spotify would not share songs other Spotify users. It either goes to the start screen or crashes the app. Followed all restart and reinstall instructions and more. Hope this is a simple fix. Thanks.
