Spotify's Andriod bug can kill drivers behind the wheel.

Spotify's Andriod bug can kill drivers behind the wheel.

The single most annoying issue with the Spotify Android App is that it WILL NOT maintain the play queue after a period of time.  Example, I have the Spotify on my Galaxy SIII with several playlists off songs locally downloaded to my phone.  I'm using the Spotify widget on my Android home screen.  After an extended period of time, if you hit PLAY on the widget, it will not play.  If you open the app from the Widiget, and hit play, it will not play.  If you try to play Spotify from your screen saver widget, IT WILL NOT PLAY.  You have the PHYSICALLY go back into the application, and the playlist, and reselect a song for playing.

This is extremely dangerous if you are driving.  Dear Spotify, STOP TRYING TO KILL PEOPLE.  I should be able to quickly turn my phone on, and start my music without having to navigate back into the application and playlist.  In my particular case, I use a mounted phone dock in my car, and I want to be able to quickly press a button, and start my music.  Spotify doesn't do that. Spotify wants you to die by forcing you to navigate to their app while you are driving, just to restart your music.

That not really a fair point.

Spotify isn't going to kill you. I acknowledge that there is the possibility of this being a bug (and quite a nasty one at that) but I don't use android so I have never encountered this. If you make the active dicision to pick up or interact with your mobile phone whilst you are driving, regardless of Spotify being a pain or not, then that is your own fault if an accident occurs because you where distracted. In fact, it is actually illegal to use a mobile phone whilst driving here in the UK for precisely this reason.

If you want to report this as a software defect, then get in touch with the Spotify team directly using the online contact form and give the deveopers as much help as they can to resolve this issue.

That may be the case, but Spotify is not helping.  These are not simple "unnoticed" bugs.  These are OBVIOUS bugs, and they should be fixed.  This is what developers get paid to do, fix it.

If I can't use my phone in a safe and legal manor to use (here, that means I can mount my phone, and once-touch to hear music), then I'm not going to use SPOTIFY.  I'm going to switch to Google Music.  I hope Spotify reads this.
