Spotify switch automatically device and start music playing

My Question or Issue

For several weeks I have the problem that Spotify automatically switch the device and starts playing music on the other device. This happens also with Android Auto. My wife is playing music at home and suddenly music is moving to my car.

I found no setting to disable this annoying behavior.

I deactivated already permission for searching nearby devices for Spotify and in Spotify itself the option "show only local devices" is active.

To find a solution, we'll need to figure out what is triggering this exact switch to happen. To that end, could you please provide us the following:

• Is this on all devices or only on specific one(s)?
• When this first started happening, did you make any changes to your setup? Did it coincide with an update to Spotify or any of the devices?
• Are all the affected devices under the same account?
• Have you noticed any sort of pattern when it happens (e.g. when a specific device is turned on, when devices are on the same network) or is it sporadic.

With this information, we’d be happy to investigate.
