Spotify taking over a minute to start playing songs

Spotify taking over a minute to start playing songs

Description

Whenever I first load up Spotify and attempt to play a song it it takes over a minute before it starts playing.  The symptoms are akin to connection issues (e.g. not loading playlists, lag between songs, lag when searching for music).  At no point do I recieve a notification saying that there is no connection, however.  This issue occurs over wifi and 4g.  It also occurs with both offline and online songs and playlists.  Usually after about 30 minutes of this it'll start playing normally.  If I stop listening to Spotify for more than an hour or two, however, the problem occurs again.

What are the steps you took to get to the error/issue?

1. Start the program

2. Attempt to play song

Can you try clearing the app cache then login and try again?

Already done.  Followed all the troubleshooting steps.  Deleted cache (from in app and out), uninstalled, deleted spotify folder, reinstalled, etc.  No effect.

Do you have any apps which may conflict ie tunewiki or eq apps like viper installed?

If not it sounds like it may be your phone as this is the only instance in recent posts I've seen this issue. Might be worth doing a full wipe... You say you are rooted, so use something like titanium backup to backup and restore your app data (don't restore system data)

I have excactly the same problem. But right now it does not start playing songs at all.

I do have a volume booster / equailizer  installed, however I haven't had any issue with it up until now.  I've tried disabling uninstalling it as well, no effect.

The only thing sound related I've recently installed that is sound related would be Google Music.

I won't be able to do a full wipe until this weekend.  I'll continue to freeze/disable/uninstall apps to try to eliminate other possible culprits.

Quick update:  After making a back up, wiping, and reinstalling it started working fine.  For a day.  Then it went right back to doing the same thing.
