Spotify won't allow me to use bluetooth to pause

Spotify won't allow me to use bluetooth to pause

I have recently found that Spotify doesn't allow for pausing, skip trick, or go back a track using Bluetooth headphone buttons. I can hit the button for play which successfully causes it to play, but the buttons for other playback commands do not work. This is a recent problem as the headphones I tried this on used to be able to pause and play just fine. I know this is a problem with Spotify as I tried the playback functions on google music and Spotify with not issues.  I tested this on two pairs of headphones: the skullcandy venue and the Sony WF-1000XM3.

I have cleared my cache, reset the headphones, and uninstalled and reinstalled spotify all with no results. If this can be fixed please let me know how.

Hi there @KingKuntaX,

Welcome to the Community!

Currently there is no way to manipulate the way buttons on Bluetooth headphones function with the Spotify app.

It looks like other users would also like to see this feature implemented in the future. Check out this New Idea and add your +Vote to show your support.
