My Question or Issue

Hi
I never had problems with Spotify. I play it on several devices and stream it to chromecast or via bluetooth to speakers.

But suddenly Spotify won’t play anymore on my tablet. I can start the song, but it doesn’t move forward. Also, playing Spotify from my tablet via bluetooth to my JBL speakers won’t work, but strangely I can stream music from my tablet to chromecast.

I tried everything, but don’t manage to solve the problem. Hopefully their is a solution?

Thank you!

Hey @mrijab,

Thanks for keeping in touch and for sending those videos.

Could you try logging in to a different account, like a friend's or relative's on your tablet to see if the issue persists? This would help us determine if this is account related.

Also, can you try using a different connection, like mobile data if possible, or a different WiFi network?

Keep us posted on how it goes.

Hello,
I tried my mobile data, work Wi-Fi and a different account and still no songs play on the Spotify app on my Asus tablet .

Hey @mrijab,

Thanks for the reply.

Here are a few more things we can try:

  • Make sure the Spotify app is granted all permissions in the App settings.
  • Make sure there is no Battery saver/Optimization enabled.

If there is an SD card in the tablet, try removing it and reinstalling the app without the SD card.

If the app still behaves the same way after this, let us know the exact version of the app on your tablet after the reinstall.

Cheers.

Hello all,
I forgot, I did have a SD card in my tablet. Took it out and reinstalled the Spotify app and it would play a song.
Hope this helps Tineke.
Thank you for all the help.
Jim

Hi again @mrijab,

Thanks for keeping us posted.

We're glad to know that it worked. There might be some issues with the SD card itself that were causing this behavior.

If you have any questions or need a hand with anything else, we're always a post away and happy to help.

Have a good one 🙂

Hi all,

The first 2 things didn't help, but removing the SD card did.
Thank you for all the help!

Jim, thank you for trying all the solutions with me! I'm happy we can listen to Spotify again on our tablet.

Have a nice day,

T.
