Spotify wont sync to SD card, usual solution doesnt work

I am unable to force Spotify to use the SD card. I am aware of the solution here https://support.spotify.com/uk/problems/#!/article/switch-storage-of-Spotify-files-from-internal-mem... however, it doesnt work on my phone.

To make sure, I deleted Spotify from my phone completely, restarted the device and took the screenshots of the storage space. Clearly, the SD card "has more free space than your Android's internal cache would have if empty". Despite this, when I installed Spotify back and downloaded some playlists, they got saved to the internal storage (see sceenshot 3).

Is there anything more I can do to force Spotify into using the SD card?
