Hey @DavidIsAngry! Welcome to the Spotify Community!
The SD Card is quite a common issue, let me show you the following possible solutions:
Please let me know if any of the options work out for you!
Once an SD card has been fornatted as internal storage, the android OS presents one pool of internal storage to apps so I'm not sure it would be possible for an app to work around this. Quite honestly, adoptable storage has many shortcomings and is only useful on old/cheap handsets with very little internal storage. This is probably why many manufacturers don't support it.
Ok Joe. I appreciate your help. So you solution for the issue is buy a new Phone? you are truly a genius.
However, that is in the case, that you are right. But guess what. You are completely wrong.
I have several other apps installed, that let me choose storage flawlessly.
So if you have no idea please don't waste my time.
Thank you very much.
Regards.
That was incredibly rude.

I have the same problem, and I'm also a premium subscriber. Verizon Galaxy S7, app does not give me an option to save to SD card. After deleting the app, restarting, re-installing, manually giving Spotify storage permission in Android, then starting the app I'm able to see the option for storage 1 time in 5. When I select SD card I get a message saying that my files are moving, then the app goes wonky, shuts down, then I get a notification that Spotify can't access my external storage. Also, after numerous fresh installs, Android App manager showed Spotify using 10.9 GB of internal storage, however, after deleting the app my internal storage did not go down 10.9 GB. I pay to use this service, and I travel a lot overseas so I use external storage to listen to my music. Everything was working fine two versions ago. Please fix this ASAP.
Oh, and I did chat with Spotify about this earlier, and they told me to reformat my SD card. I didn't do it at the time and called BS, but then I noticed my camera wasn't saving to my SD card either. So I reformatted my SD card...twice...and tried the previous clean install process again. Still didn't work. But my camera now saves to my card again.
