Streaming Spotify wireless from Android to Yamaha RX-V773 amp

Hello

I have spotify premium and an iphone which I stream music from to my Yamaha RX-V773 amp using Airplay.

I wish to ditch the iphone and move to android, and from researching the issue it seems to me that I wont be able to stream wirelessly to my amp in the same way I can at the moment. I see that 'Spotify Connect' is currently being rolled out which will fix this.

My question is will spotify connect work with my Yamaha Rx-V773 whenever it finally comes out? If so, I'm prepared to wait. If not, I'll have to stick with iphone (this is a major issue for me!)

From this thread, it looks like connect should be available for the Yamaha RX-V series within 4 weeks but you may want to contact them yourself to be on the safe side.

Only 2013 yamaha receivers will get the Spotify Connect update. As far as I know, RX-V773 is 2012 model.

Your only option is using Bluetooth or airplay (requires root). If you are ready to root your android device then check out AirAudio app.
