Struggling to get started

Solved!

Struggling to get started

Hi all,

I've signed up for a Premium account and am struggling to be able to listen offline - at least, I think that's my problem.

I have an iPad and a Samsung Galaxy S5 mobile. I've downloaded a few albums via my iPad and want to be able to listen to my music on my mobile, including via Bluetooth in my car, without chewing up the data on my mobile.

For the life of me, I cannot get my head around how I do this. I can see the music 'shared' on both devices, but can't play the music on my Galaxy.

I've tried using Help/Q&A, but I'm going nowhere fast.

Can anyone help out with a cheat sheet/instructions?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

can You better detail what You mean by: "can't play the music on my Galaxy." ?

To test if it works offline You have to go into "Settings" and set "Offline" to true.

Let me know!

Hi Camillo,

On my Galaxy, when I go into the songlist of an album, the Available Offline 'button' is green. When I tap on an individual song, I get the pop-up message "This song is not available".

At the bottom of the screen, it says "Spotify is in Offline mode".

Cheers...Michael

Hi do You see also the green arrows on each track, like in the picture I attached?

Nope, no little green arrows on my Galaxy. There are on all the albums/tracks on my iPad, but not on my mobile.

You should try to reinstall the Spotify app from scratch:

Do You have space to download the tracks on the Galaxy?

Do You have space on Your SD card?

Is it a compatible SD card?

If You do not have the green arrows on each track, then they were not downloaded offline.

Can You try to set the application online in the preferences?

Usually the tracks are downloaded when You are connected to a wifi network.

When they are downloaded, You can set the application offline or You can switch on the "airplane" mode and You can listen to all the tracks which have the green arrow.

Let me know!

Thank you!

Bets regards,

Camillo

Nope, no little green arrows on my Galaxy. There are on my iPad, beside every track and album, but not on my mobile.
